چکیده

Characterizing the nonlinear optical properties of various materials plays a prerequisite role in optics. Among different measurement methods, well-known Z-scan technique and modified versions have been recognized as simple accurate methods for measuring both real imaginary parts refractive index. However, based on detecting small beam variations impose severe restriction roughness materials. Therefore, highly scattering media still remain challenging. Inspired by innovation conventional method that replaces wavefront phase shift spatial pattern far-field, spectral domain is presented this paper. It has great potential characterizing index medium, since efficiency insensitive to wavelength Mie scattering, which occurs wavelengths far smaller than roughness. Moreover, demonstrate advantages technique, refractions polished slides frosted were measured, agree well with previous reports.

Single-beam differential z-scan technique.

We report a single-beam, differential z-scan technique with improved sensitivity for the determination of nonlinear absorption and refraction of materials. A sample is scanned in the direction of beam propagation as usual, but, in addition, its longitudinal position is dithered, producing a detector signal proportional to the spatial derivative of only the nonlinear transmission and therefore g...

Measurement of The Nonlinear Refractive Index by Z-scan Technique

In this seminar the third-order nonlinear optical phenomena are described. The emphasis is on the nonlinear refractive index n2. We describe the Z-scan technique, which is a simple method to determine n2. At the end we show how Z-scan method can be used to examine protein concentration in human blood.

Study of nonlinear optical properties of Carbon nanotubes synthesized by Nickel and Nickel-Cobalt catalysts using Z-scan technique

The nonlinear optical properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been studied by using the Z-scan technique. Experiments are performed by CW second harmonic of Nd-YAG laser at 532 nm wavelength with a power of 40 mW. The samples are synthesized by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method in the presence of Nickel and Nickel-Cobalt catalysts. In this work, for the first time, effect of the typ...

Photoexcited Carrier Lifetime and Refractive Nonlinearity in Direct and Indirect Band Gap Crystals on the Z-Scan Technique

The Photoexcited carrier lifetime (τ) and peak to valley transmission difference (ΔTp-v) in direct and indirect band gap crystals has been investigated by the use of single beam open and closed aperture z-scan technique using frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser. The peak to valley transmission difference (ΔTp-v) is found to be of the order of 10-2 in case of direct band gap crystals and of the order...
